Marley & Me The Movie

"Don't judge a book by its cover"

Really? Cos if you ask me, it's total bullshit.

Mid 2007, I bought a book on impulse. And I'm not a book reader, and don't like reading in general. But I bought Marley & Me by John Grogan because of the dog on the cover.

Yeah, yeah... I'm a sucker for muka kesian puppies.

And then I began brainwashing people to read the book as well. Ringo took the bait, she liked it. Lisa also took the bait, she liked it too.

How to say this. It's one of those books you can read over and over without skipping a chapter.

[Well, maybe the part where Marley passes away, I'm too chicken to read that twice]

Then I went and bought another book with a dog on the cover again. Bad Dogs Have More Fun also by John Grogan.

Simply because, anyone who can write about the life of a dog and describe in detail how it has enriched and influenced the life of a family deserves that much credit. True enough, I found myself hooked.

This book is a compilation of articles written by John Grogan over the years. I fell in love with a few articles.

There was one about a baby girl who contracted meningitis that left her brain-damaged. But her family loved her all the same, even if she was 55 years old and had never spoken a word or returned a smile, blind and paralyzed. And no matter what, her family loves her as a gift who taught them unconditional love and compassion.

Another one about how smokers were not only polluting our lungs but inconsiderately flicking their ciggie butts out the window. Here, there were quite a few sarcastic (and extremely funny, and true) parts which made me laugh. And I totally agree with him.

Another story was about a tow-truck driver who guided an utter stranger to the hospital during and emergency, which saved her life. I like how the tow-truck driver said he was liked and disliked. Liked by the people whom he had saved from being in the middle of nowhere after a breakdown, and people who were in a car accident. Disliked by the people whose cars were parked illegally that he towed.

And now they're making a movie of Marley & Me!

Can you hear my excitement? I'm almost convinced I'm causing an earthquake somewhere jumping up and down. Maybe soil corrosion at the very least.

This puppy much chubbier than the one on the book cover. But definitely just as cute. Sorry, soft spot for doggies.

Starring Owen Wilson and Jennifer Anniston. I don't particularly like any of these people, but guess what! McSteamy is in the movie also!! I this as a keh leh feh only, but what the heck?! Here, let me refresh your memory?

Muahaha, McSteamy!! Whose body is a gift from the gods!

And also the dog.

I am so watching this movie. Because of McSteamy - OMG hot hot hot Marley the dog.

Edit: Tell me you didn't laugh when the dog was walking on the road with his hind legs in the car.
